How do I make puffed rice that I will use for baby cereal at home?
pr says
Hi Robina,
It’s a simple process dear. Pour little oil into a pan, heat it and then add rice and fry it for 5 to 10 seconds. Take out the puffed rice and put it in a baking sheet so that the extra oil is removed.
Phoram Sampat says
Good Evening. Please advise if the powder needs to be roasted for few minutes before adding water or can we directly just add water to it and cook for few minutes before giving to the baby. My baby is almost 10 months old. Also can i add little dry fruits powder to this dish?
Thank you.
Dr Hemapriya says
Hi dear, for instant powders you can directly add hot boiling water to the powder, stir well and leave it covered for 5 minutes. Yes you can add dry fruits powder for your 10 month old.

hi,
This site is really helpful to mothers like me. great work.
I wanted to ask that if adding hot water is enough to these instant porridge powder than isn’t it the same method we are using to prepare satthu maavu or the cerelac powder which you have asked to cook for 10 min.
so will these instant porridge powder get cooked just by adding hot water? what the difference between two?
Dr Hemapriya says
Hi Srija,
In health mix there are many ingredients so they need to be cooked, for these instant porridges there are maximum 3 ingredients and since they are roasted nicely, they can be easily cooked with hot water
