Eggless Sooji Cake/Rava Cake Recipe for Kids

A simple and a healthy cake to introduce your kiddo to the world of cakes and cookies. This is a Kids friendly Eggless Sooji Cake/Rava Cake/Semolina Cake without maida and ghee replacing butter.

How to make Sooji Cake / Rava Cake for Kids?

Ingredients

  • 1 cup suji
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Vanilla essence few drops
  • A handful of dry fruits chopped(raisins,cashew nuts,almonds,walnuts)
  • Almond silvers for garnish

Method

1. In a bowl mix suji and powdered sugar together well.
2.Add curd and then milk, mix properly.
3. Add Ghee and mix well.

4. Add baking powder and vanilla essence.

5. Mix all the ingredients together well.
6. Add dryfruits and mix well.

7. Pour the batter in a greased tin.

8. Garnish with almond silvers.

9. Preheat the oven at 180 degree.

10.Bake in the oven at 180deg.

11. Bake till the cake slightly browns in the corners.

See notes for modification of the recipe for babies less than 1 year.

  • Add baking soda and vanilla essence.
  • Mix all the ingredients well
  • Add dryfruits.
  • Pour the batter in a greased tin.
  • Garnish with almond silvers.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
  • Bake in the oven at 180deg.
  • Bake till the edges start to brown and a tooth pick comes clean

      One teaspoon of baking powder can be replaced with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda dear.

    very tasty cake, i made it and in 2 mins it was wiped out… i added Bkg powder as per recipe as well as a bit of Bkg soda. It was toooo good and my curd was sour yet it came out perfectly delicious n moist, Thank you

    Looks great. Can i add any fruit? Like mashed banana to it ? Do i need to reduce any othe ingredients?

    I tried this and it came out great. I was a quarter spoon short of rava and used while wheat flour to even it. The cake out really well.

    Hi,

    Ive never tried an eggless cake recipe . I just happened to see your recipe and tried it…I must say it exceeded my expectations…I loved the moistness ,the look and the taste of this cake..very yumm indeed. The only thing I changed was to add cardamom powder instead of vanilla essence. Love it!!!
