Can I give dry Green peas (After soak ) to nine month old baby?
Yes, Please cook it well, mash and feed.
Hi Hema, I am giving my daughter fruits (apple, chikoo) and vegetable (beet, carrot, tomato, pumpkin, sweet potato) purees since 6 months. Now she will be 9 months on 6 March. After boiling and grinding we sieve the mixture and give to her. Can I stop doing that now and start giving her purees directly after grinding? We do add ghee, jeera powder n curry leaves for tempering. Is there anything more that can be used?
Hi Pooja,
Try not to always grind food for the baby as her digestive system might get used to it. Gradually change the consistency from ground to mashed and so on. You can also give small pieces of boiled fruits and vegetables as finger foods. Yes, tempering of food is okay.
I gave potato & fresh puree to my baby. He just loved.
Thanks to Dr. Hema.
My question is: Can we keep the left over purees in refrigerator & give them to our toddlers the next day after microwaving? Is that safe for babies?
Hi Shubhi,
Happy that your baby enjoyed the recipe 🙂 It’s better if you can give fresh fruit purees to your baby dear.
