Sweet potato Tikkis for Toddlers

Sweet potato Tikkis for Toddlers recipe is a delicious way to give your kid a snack option and introduce them to the health benefits of sweet potatoes!
Course: Snack
Cuisine: Indian

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. Peel and grate the sweet potatoes.
  2. Put a pan on the stove and add a tiny bit of oil (like one spoon).
  3. Add the grated sweet potatoes and cook them for around 5-7 minutes. Stir now and then until they become soft and a little brown. This makes them taste better.
  4. Sprinkle inthe cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and a little bit of salt.Mix everything really well.
  5. Take thepan off the stove and let it cool a little.
  6. When it's not too hot, add the breadcrumbs tothe mixture. Breadcrumbs help keep the tikkis together.
  7. Make small tikkis with the mixture. You can shape them like circles or ovals, whichever you like
  8. In another pan, add a bit more oil (like one or two spoons) and heat it.
  9. Put the sweet potato tikkis in the pan and cook them for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Wait until they turn golden and crispy.
  10. Take the tikkis out of the pan and put them on a plate with a paper towel to soak up any extra oil.
  11. Wait for them to cool a little, then you can give them to your toddler to eat. You can serve them plain or with yogurt
