Steam the pumpkin until soft and mash it smoothly using a mixer.
In a bowl, add rice flour and mashed pumpkin. Mix well and add warm water little by little to form a soft dough.
Add ghee and knead gently. Grease the idiyappam press and mould.
Fill the dough and press into idiyappam on an idli plate. Steam for 8–10 minutes.
Cool slightly and serve.
