Ingredients

  • 1 medium potato, peeled
  • 1/4 tsp cumin (jeera) seeds
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • Water

Instructions

  • Boil or steam the potato cubes until very tender.
  • Mash the cooked potatoes thoroughly until smooth.
  • Heat one teaspoon of ghee in a small pan over low heat.
  • Add 1/4 teaspoon of cumin seeds and let them splutter briefly.
  • Add the mashed potatoes and a pinch of turmeric powder to the pan.
  • Mix well, then add a little water for a smooth consistency.
  • Simmer for one to two minutes, stirring.
  • Cool to a safe temperature before serving.
