Ingredients

  • 1/4 litre Milk
  • 1–2 tsp Agar agar (china grass) or cornflour
  • 2–3 tbsp Water (to dissolve)
  • 1 tsp Cocoa powder (for brown top)
  • 1–2 tbsp Jaggery powder

Instructions

  • Heat the milk on a low flame. Add jaggery and mix until fully dissolved.
  • Dissolve agar agar or cornflour in water and add to the milk. Stir continuously until it dissolves.
  • Divide the mixture into two portions. Add cocoa powder to one portion and mix well (this will be the brown mushroom top).
  • Pour the cocoa mixture into a bowl to form the mushroom top.
  • Pour the plain (white) mixture into a small glass to form the stem. Let both set completely.
  • Gently demould and place the brown top over the white stem to form a mushroom shape. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top for added flavor and visual appeal. Milk pudding recipe for kids is ready now!
