Broken Wheat Dessert (Lapsi)

Lapsi is a broken wheat dessert from Gujarat that's very easy to make and is ideal for when you're craving something quick and sweet!

Ingredients

  • Broken Wheat / Dalia – 1/3 bowl
  • Jaggery – 1 tablespoon
  • Water – 3 - 3 ½ bowl
  • Ghee – 2/3 tablespoon

Instructions

  • Add ghee in a pressure cooker, followed by the broken wheat. Roast the wheat till it turns golden brown.
  • Mix jaggery and water together. Boil this mixture till the jaggery is completely dissolved.
  • Add the jaggery water to the roasted broken wheat and pressure cook on a medium flame for 3 whistles. Once the pressure releases, scoop it out in a bowl and serve hot.
