Apple Jam Recipe

An easy to make apple jam with jaggery and cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 2 Apples
  • Juice of half Lemon.
  • 3 Tablespoon of Butter or Ghee.
  • 2 small pieces of cinnamon.
  • Jaggery or Brown Sugar as required.

Instructions

  • Slice 2 apples and finely chop it.
  • In a bowl marinate the apples with lemon juice for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Don't marinate for a long time as the apples may turn brown.
  • In a pan, add ghee/butter and add the cinnamon sticks to it.
  • After a few seconds remove the cinnamon sticks, as we are adding them just for flavor.
  • Add the chopped apple pieces and cook till soft.
  • Add Jaggery/brown sugar and cook till both apple and jaggery blend together.
  • NO WATER SHOULD BE ADDED TO COOK THE APPLES
  • Allow the mixture to cool.
  • Blend this in a blender and store it in a dry bottle.
  • It can be stored up to 2 to 3 days.
