Boil water and add a pinch of salt to it (if required).
For dough - In a large bowl add a cup of ragi flour, half a cup of rice flour and mix well.
Add the boiled water in the flour mixture.
At first mix well with laddle, followed by the hand to form a lump free dough.
Knead it into a soft dough and keep it aside.
For filling - In a bowl add Jaggery, desiccated coconut, roasted gram, dry fruits powder, cardamom/Elaichi powder and mix well.
Now take Modak mould and grease it with ghee on all the sides.
Add small portions of flour dough into the mold and spread evenly.
Add stuffing into the mould and close it with small portion of flour dough.
Gently unmold the modak and add saffron strands for garnishing.
Now steam cook the raw modak using steamer or idly cooker for 10 minutes.
Healthy ragi modak is now ready to serve.
