In a mixing bowl, combine the ragi flour, rice flour, chopped vegetables,onions, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and salt.
Gradually add water to the mixture and whisk well to form a smooth batter. The consistency should be similar to regular dosa batter.
Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle on medium heat and drizzle a little oil or ghee on it.
Pour a ladleful of the ragi batter onto the tawa and spread it gently in a circular motion to form a thin pancake.
Cook the uttapam for a couple of minutes until the bottom turns golden-brown. Flip it over and cook the other side as well.
Cut the uttapam into small pieces or bite-sized portions suitable for your toddler.
Serve warm with a side of coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
