In a wide bowl, take all the ingredients except cooking oil and ghee.Mix everything well without adding water; the onions will release some water as you mix.
Heat oil to deep fry. Take a tbsp of hot oil and add to the flour. Add ghee and mix well. Then sprinkle a few drops of water and make a dough.
To check if the oil is ready, drop a tiny amount of batter into it. If the batter rises to the surface immediately, the oil is ready. Reduce the flame to medium high & pinch in a portion of batter and drop in the oil, letting it fall gradually.
Cook till onions turn golden brown. Drain the oil on a kitchen napkin and serve.
