Tofu Bhurji / Scrambled Tofu

Tofu bhurji /scrambled tofu is one of the best nutritious dishes which tastes great. This can be made in a jiffy and served with chapati, paratha or bread.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams tofu
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 to mato finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder adjust as per taste
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • Small bunch of fresh coriander leaves.

Instructions

  • To begin with, rinse the tofu block in fresh water well. Pat it dry using tissue paper or a clean kitchen towel.
  • You may grate the tofu, I have chopped it instead.
  • Heat oil in a pan or wok. Add onions to it and saute for 1-2 minutes. Next tip in tomato and green peas. Stir fry the veggies for a minute or so. I have used frozen green peas so they cook quickly. If using fresh green peas. Cover cook until the peas cook well.
  • Now add turmeric followed by chopped or scrambled tofu and mix well. Stir fry for another 1-2 minutes and cover cook for 2-3 minutes more.
  • Lastly add freshly crushed black pepper and garnish the tofu bhurji with finely chopped coriander.
  • Serve the delicious tofu bhurji with your preferred flat bread. I have served it with multi grain bread.
