An easy to make apple jam with jaggery and cinnamon
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 Apples
  • Juice of half Lemon.
  • 3 Tablespoon of Butter or Ghee.
  • 2 small pieces of cinnamon.
  • Jaggery or Brown Sugar as required.
METHOD
  1. Slice 2 apples and finely chop it.
  2. In a bowl marinate the apples with lemon juice for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Don't marinate for a long time as the apples may turn brown.
  4. In a pan, add ghee/butter and add the cinnamon sticks to it.
  5. After a few seconds remove the cinnamon sticks, as we are adding them just for flavor.
  6. Add the chopped apple pieces and cook till soft.
  7. Add Jaggery/brown sugar and cook till both apple and jaggery blend together.
  8. NO WATER SHOULD BE ADDED TO COOK THE APPLES
  9. Allow the mixture to cool.
  10. Blend this in a blender and store it in a dry bottle.
  11. It can be stored up to 2 to 3 days.
