The heart shaped homemade strawberry cookies are the best healthy and tasty fruity sweet treats for your loved ones on this Valentine's day.
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup oats flour
  • 8-10 fresh strawberries
  • ½ cup jaggery powder
  • ¼ cup oil/ ghee/ butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
  2. Sift the whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder and salt in a bowl. Add oats flour to it. Mix well.
  3. Wash and hull the strawberries, chop them roughly and mash them in a bowl with a potato masher or using your fingertips.
  4. Add jaggery powder to the mashed strawberries and blend well using a spoon or wire whisk until jaggery powder melts.
  5. Add oil to this strawberry jaggery mixture and mix well.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mix bowl and mix everything well using your hands. Gather the mixture to a dough ball without adding any water. Do not over knead.
  7. Roll out the dough into a sheet of ¼-inch thickness. Cut it into heart shape using cookie cutter.
  8. Arrange the cookies on a lined or greased baking tray and bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 18-20 minutes.
  9. On baking, the cookies should be firm at the edges and a bit soft towards the center. The cookies harden further on cooling. So do not over bake as they will turn very hard if done so.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before transferring them to an airtight container.
  11. Serve the delicious strawberry cookies with milk or as it is.
