Makhana/Lotus seeds Porridge for Babies

This makhana porridge or makhana kheer is an ideal food for travel as only hot water is required to add to the powder to make porridge
INGREDIENTS
  • 100 gm of Makhana
  • 1 teaspoon of jaggery (for sweet version for toddlers)
  • ½ teaspoon of jeera powder or cumin powder (for savory version)
METHOD
  1. Cut the makhana into half to check for worms
  2. Dry roast the makhana till nice aroma arises
  3. Let them cool
  4. Powder it in a blender
  5. Sieve till a fine powder is obtained.
  6. When needed, to a 2 tablespoon of powder add 30 ml of warm water , mix without lumps and serve.
